Muslims' Islam
Islam is certainly a great religion, the religion that showed light to this world when it was in complete darkness, the religion that brought values and respect to humanity when human beings were not respected in true sense, the religion which gave rights to women when they were looked down upon in the society, which defined rights for slaves, neighbors and even animals, and the religion which preaches equality.
Yes, equality…Through Islamic teachings the concept of differentiation among human beings on the basis of caste, colour and wealth was eliminated and the only reason that it gave for one human being to be better than the others was taqwa..the concept of equality actually brought respect to humanity where it was asked to respect the rights of human beings irrespective of their social status…This concept of equality was one of the main reasons for the quick spread of islam.
Namaz is one of the demonstrations of this concept of equality and brotherhood, where every muslim, rich or poor, black or white, belonging to any sect stand for a jammat in front of Allah. But sadly this isn’t happening around us today. The real concept of Islam’s equality has been transformed into the sectarian concept of equality which certainly preaches equality within a sect but looks down upon other sects. A masjid was supposed to be the Home of ALLAH almighty for every muslim but sadly it has now become a symbol of sectarian beliefs where the administration of one particular mosque names that mosque after that particular sect and literally or virtually announces this through one way or the other that what we do is the right and the best and what others do is non Islamic and should not be given any respect. I have been observing this for the past few days in my factory where everyday two separate jammats take place and not for the reason that they don’t get time to say it earlier but for the reason that the other imam says his jammat differently as they want him to say it..and if not everywhere this is happening at most of the places... i would certainly not say that I m a big professor of islam and my knowledge is better than most of the respectable ulamas in this regard but this is truth that we have destroyed the real image of islam through these differences and I certainly don’t need any detailed study for this as I m sure the real spirit of islam does not and cannot preach other than this.
These self created sectarian differences have now turned into Intra religious enmity. Where it is a holy saying “Your actions are based upon your intentions” one just cannot be a better judge than ALLAH for anyone’s intention..no matter how he ties his arms or says his namaz…until that particular person is saying this for ALLAH let ALLAH decide his reward for this…
No doubt that we see turmoil everywhere around us and find ourselves caught up in a mess, this is probably because we have become self centered in whatever thing we do or deliver, either it is related to our religion or ourselves..When islam appeared before the people, this world needed to be reformed but now the application of Islamic teachings needs to be looked upon..If muslims are to prosper and rule again, the solution has to be the real “Muslims’ Islam”..
